With over 25 years of experience, Ardavan serves as Managing Director and Chief Strategist, overseeing ACIMA’s economic strategy and asset allocation process. He works directly with clients to develop and implement innovative investment strategies.
Prior to joining ACIMA, Ardavan was a Senior Managing Director and Chief Economist at the American International Group (AIG), where he founded and led the company’s global macroeconomic research efforts. Ardavan has over 25 years of experience in financial markets and economic analysis, first, in equity portfolio management at Sanford C. Bernstein, and later, in macroeconomic and financial market research and trading at Bear, Stearns. From 2004 to 2007 he was Senior Economist and head of Macro Strategy at Bear Stearns Asset Management. Ardavan has also advised numerous corporate boards and executive groups and organizations over the years in various topics such as corporate strategy, emerging markets, investments and data analytics.
Ardavan pursued his doctoral studies in economics at the Graduate Center-City University of New York, holds an M.A. in economics from Queens College, an M.S. in financial engineering from New York University, as well as a B.S. in industrial engineering from Lehigh University. He has over fifteen years of experience lecturing in economics, finance, and management at Fairfield University, Seton Hall University, the City University of New York and most recently at the University of Richmond.
Ardavan is a CFA® charterholder and a certified Financial Risk Manager™. He frequently speaks at industry, academic conferences and symposiums and writes for major financial and regional newspapers on topics such as macroeconomic trends, inflation, emerging markets, and evolving financial markets.
Ardavan and his wife, Azi are proud parents of two children. They enjoy spending their time with their children’s many school and after school activities and ventures, and traveling to historic places.
